Brazil
midfielder Oscar is confident he will retain his position in Luiz
Felipe Scolari’s side despite the impressive form of team-mate Willian.
The
Chelsea ace was granted compassionate leave this week for the birth of
his daughter but returned in time to line-up against Serbia in Friday's
Gillette Brasil Global clash at the Morumbi, where Fred scored the only
goal of the game as the Selecao recorded a 1-0 win.
Oscar
was replaced Willian in the second half but says that despite reports
suggesting he may lose his place in the team, he remains confident of
starring for his country at this month’s World Cup.
“A friendly or a training session will not see me lose my place in the team,” Oscar told ESPN Brasil.
“[The
press] are trying to take me out of the team and replace me with
Willian. They can keep talking about that, but I'm calm and confident.
“Willian is playing very well, but everyone has his moment.”
