Courtois insists: It's Atletico or Chelsea, not Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois has made it clear that his immediate future lies at either Atletico Madrid or Chelsea, and not Real Madrid.

The Belgian goalkeeper has spent the last three seasons on loan from the Blues at the Vicente Calderon and has established a reputation as one of the finest young shot-stoppers in Europe.

Question marks remain over whether he will return to Chelsea or attempt to make his stay with Atletico permanent, while city rivals Madrid have also been linked with a potential move this summer.

Courtois, however, insists he sees his future at either the Rojiblancos or the Premier League leaders - even though he claims he has yet to speak to Jose Mourinho about his plans.

"If the rumours [about Real] are not true, then they are not true. The one thing I have always said is this: it's Atletico or Chelsea," he told Castilla La Mancha TV.

"I'm very happy to be with Atleti, my desire is to play and if I can't do that at Chelsea and I can continue here, I'll be very happy.

"I've never spoken with Mourinho. At the moment Chelsea cannot guarantee me a place in goal, because [Petr] Cech is there, he is playing well and is one of the best keepers in the world."

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, meanwhile, has once more underlined his intention to keep the 21-year-old at the club for as long as possible.

"Thibaut, as everyone knows, belongs to Chelsea," he told Marca. "He is comfortable with us and we're going to try to keep him here for as long as possible, but it's not up to us.

"But we're going to try with all our might to get him to stay."
