The 30 Superstar Royal Rumble Match

On Sunday, Jan. 26, arguably the single most anticipated contest of the entire year, the 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match, returns to pay-per-view!


In addition to being one of WWE's proudest annual traditions, the multi-man melee is also one of the most important: The victor gains nothing short of a career-defining opportunity in the form of a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania XXX this April.
To make such a lifelong dream come to fruition, however, the winning Superstar must first outlast 29 of his peers in a unique match format that is rife with risk. Royal Rumble's eponymous match works this way: Prior to the contest, all 30 Superstars draw a number, which determines the order of entry. The competitors who draw Nos. 1 (CM Punk) and 2 begin in the ring, with a new participant joining the pack every 90 seconds. Every man fights for himself, and elimination only occurs when a Superstar is thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The final wrestler left standing in the ring is declared the winner.
As of the Jan. 20 edition of Raw, the following Superstars have been announced as official entrants in this year's 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match:
