The havy match, Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel (Kickoff Match)

The immediate fate of the WWE Tag Team Championships will be decided at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, but there will be more competition for the tag team division. Two tandems, both weaned under the tutelage of WWE veterans, will collide in a tag-team contest at Elimination Chamber Kickoff that could well determine the long-term future of the twin titles.
First up is Cody Rhodes & Goldust, the sons of Dusty Rhodes and beloved former WWE Tag Team Champions who suffered an upset loss to The New Age Outlaws at Royal Rumble Kickoff that cost them their championships. Despite an unsuccessful title rematch in which hearts and bodies were put on the line, the Rhodes Brothers still carry the support of the WWE Universe behind them and have used that fuel to keep pace in a tag division that is becoming more and more cutthroat by the day. They haven’t let their setbacks deter them in the slightest, most recently uniting with The Usos to claim victory in an Eight-Man Tag Team rumble on SmackDown.
Opposing them is the unlikely duo of former Paul Heyman protégés Ryback & Curtis Axel, who have been battling in  the tag team division ever since they collectively abandoned Heyman and united as a tag team. “The Big Guy’s” unlimited energy and Axel’s better-than-perfect skills have proven to be the ideal compliment to each other; despite the occasional upset loss, the young team has stayed strong and steady in the race for the Tag Team Championships. They even helped catalyze the breakup of fellow tag stalwarts The Prime Time Players, driving Titus O’Neil to attack Darren Young after pinning “Mr. No Days Off.”
The history between the two teams is minimal, but that just means that the future is ripe for the writing, and the tag team division’s latest rivalry may well be born when the bell tolls this Sunday. Will “The Brotherhood” conquer the coalition of one-time Paul Heyman Guys, or will “Rybaxel” roll on the former WWE Tag Team Champions? Find out at Elimination Chamber Kickoff, streaming live this Sunday, 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube (also featuring a Spanish language stream), Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pheed, Pinterest and Samsung SMART TVs, featuring a Kickoff Panel of Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio & The Miz
