NEYMAR WILL CONTNUE WITH HIS FORM-XAVI
Barcelona midfielder Xavi is praying that Neymar will not let the controversy surrounding his transfer harm his performances this season.
The 22-year-ol forward's name has been dragged into separate court cases on either side of the Atlantic Ocean over the same issue: the financial legality of his move to Camp Nou.
Neymar's former club Santos are pursuing his father with an injunction as they seek to see the documents that confirm the €40 million that Barca agreed to pay him in 2011 if he joined Camp Nou.
Meanwhile in Spain, the Catalunya club have been charged for failing to declare a taxable amount of €37.9 million in the transfer of the Brazil international, with the Spanish justice system seeking €9.1m in reparation.
Neymar has already felt compelled to defend his father against claims made by Santos club officials in an angry tirade, but Barca team-mate Xavi is not concerned about all of the drama as long the Selecao star maintains his impressive form on the pitch.
"The most important thing is that this doesn't affect Neymar professionally," Xavi told reporters in Spain on Thursday. "Right now he is happy and working back from his injury.
"I don't think it's affecting him - the other day he came on for a few minutes and scored a fantastic goal."
Neymar's had spent a month on the sidelines with an ankle problem as the furore around his transfer unfolded before his goalscoring return off the bench against Rayo Vallecano last weekend
